People tell me they are put off switching to a raw food diet as they enjoy hot food during the winter months.Think of it,you come home on a freezing cold day and what could be better than a big bowl of hot soup?
Well as we know if you heat up food most of it’s nutritional value is lost,so in that sense the hot soup is not an option.
So how do we make cold soup “feel” hot?
Two ways: one,put something spicy in the soup such as ginger
or chilies.
Two,heat up your soup bowl in the oven for a few minutes then
put the soup in it.
I have just made some miso soups with ginger, chilies, sesame oil,
shiitake mushrooms, spring onions and Braggs Liquid Aminos.
Let me tell you it was quite hot and left me feeling warm inside.
Not only that as the ingredients are raw the soup has more
nutritional value than any hot soup. Also soup is quick to
digest so you don’t have the exhausted feeling you get after
eating a cooked meal.
So don’t be put off by eating cold food in winter.
Spice it up and you will feel warmer.
